gettin it together

i've been working hard on churning out some new things. i'm really pleased with my level of motivation lately.
i'm shipping out three boxes tomorrow to shops and i started listing some new things on etsy today.
i'm trying to pace myself and keep a steady work pace. usually i'll cram craft time and pull overnighters, but this whole work-a-little-each-day bit seems to be working out so much better for me. seems silly that i've never really functioned this way.
so yeah..
fall! i can't wait. its absolutely my favorite seasons.. hence my leaf obsession.

heat beat

this louisville heat is killing me. i can't wait til fall arrives..
i never really wore shorts before i moved here. its kind of crazy how a few hours away from your home can be so dramatically different with weather. west virginia isn't nearly as sticky and miserable in the summer months.
but.. something to look forward to... autumn!
by far my favorite season, and by far the most dearest inez appropriate.
started working on some samples for new fall things today.
here's a quick look at a couple of the things i managed to cook up.

happenstance

Check out these two gals sporting some Dearest Inez down in Oklahoma!
Courtney (left) and Reem (right) work together at a boutique in Oklahoma City. Both happened to be wearing some Dearest Inez on the same day. Reem got her headband from me when she lived in Louisville and Courtney ordered her shirt from the Dearest Inez Etsy shop. What fun!

another time

i was looking through a friend's pictures from last fall and found this one.
this is my good friend megen and her niece dylan.
we were in chicago for the renegade craft fair last year and dylan took a liking to the small leaf earrings and leaf headbands, so she got the "i know someone" hookup.
dylan was a great little assistant at the fair and makes a great little model too!

trying to get it together

some oldies but goodies

i still think this is my favorite color to work with. this moss green color was the first i used for the leaves 6 years ago. wow. 6 years! i cant believe it sometimes..
i have some new holiday special things in the works too

im not ready to tell you what they are.. just incase i get too busy to actually finish my new projects. this way i wont feel as though i failed.
i spent a large portion of this week trying to get organized before the holiday shopping season goes full force.
this involved pulling inventory from the makery and secret stashes to make sure i have all bases covered in my etsy shop before filling other shops and such.

i love organizing things but i am not really great about keeping them in order after the fact. i need a new system. i think it involves more shelving.

pack it up

i spent a large portion of today sorting and packaging up some dearest inez goodies for other shops. ive been a little distracted and busy lately, so this is a little overdue.
it always takes me a little longer than it should to just pack a little box. im really not doing anything fancy or special. im just especially slow.
i do love these new colors.. and i need to get to making asap or my shop is going to be left with little for the holiday shopping season.
